Read what people are saying about Manndolins " I picked up the package at about 4:30 and was home and tuned before 5:00. In my opinion, the workmanship is fantastic. I have 4 hand made mandolins, 2 Weber Gallatins, (did have a Yellowstone), a Michael Kelly and some others. They all required setups, some more than once and three still aren't right for me. The MANNDOLIN arrived setup to suit ME. The tone is different in a good way and the volume is better than most. In the aesthetics area, my MANNDOLIN wins - without a doubt. Thanks for the great instrument." Tony P. - Margaret, Alabama ===================================================================================== Fabulous instrument! Art B. - Fairfax, Virginia ===================================================================================== "A fine hand crafted instrument" Gruhn Guitars - Nashville, Tennessee ===================================================================================== "Jon, thanks for giving me the opportunity to play both your A and F models at Merlefest 2004. I loved the way they were setup, and the nice woody tone of both of them. It's also refreshing to see new construction techniques, and your usage of more interesting woods. They are beautiful instruments." Tim H. - Georgia ===================================================================================== "Jon, thanks so much for the Mann F-7. What a great instrument! Great chop and bark, but beautiful tone, too; not at all harsh or brittle. Your neck joint and neck profile make this one easy to play for hours. And what a looker! I'm proud to own this instrument. I'll be saving for the next one!" David M. - Universal City, TX ====================================================================================== Hello Jon, wanted to let you know I received my
A7 yesterday and it Vince E. - Newbury Park, CA ====================================================================================== Hello John...............from the guy who bought your F style mando. I just thought I would drop you a line & let you know how much I am enjoying it............I had heard how versatile this model is & that is the truth. I can pick it hard for bluegrass style or play soft & mellow for the other "stuff". Somehow it always sounds just right. I was a bit leery before I got it with the wider nut & chunkier neck, but since have found it to be one of the most comfortable necks I have ever played on. Please include me as someone who "endorses" your mandolins............Your prices are great too...........Craig Stanley ====================================================================== Jon: Well, I spent several hours with the A7 over the Labor Day weekend, and I have to honestly tell you that my impressions are even better than when I first received it. The neck is a wondrous thing to hold- it fills my hand and is equally comfortable and stable. The fret work is pristine, the intonation is dead-solid perfect (that is NO exaggeration), and from the top of the unique headstock to the strap button on the tailpiece, it is apparent that what you do is a gift and a labor of love. Man, what a beauty. I just can’t get over the sound this mando possesses. I can’t exactly describe it, but it is at the same time earthy, rich, mellow, warm and “woody” in all of the good ways. If your favorite pair of well-worn jeans could sing, they would sound like the A7. In a word, it’s soulful. I own several well-made instruments, and I am happy to place the A7 up with the best of them. If you need me to convince anybody as to the quality of your work, I would be more than happy to talk their ears off. It is EXACTLY what I have been looking for in a mandolin. Many, many thanks for putting this sweet thing in my hands. Regards, Mark Smith ======================================================================================== Hey Jon, ========================================================================================= Jon, it took all of my energy to get my fingers on this key board
and type ========================================================================================= Hello Jon, Just wanted to let you know how much I've been enjoying my EM-8. Just by holding it one can feel that it's an extremely well-made mandolin. The neck is very comfortable and the action is great (I became a faster player overnight). What I love best about it is the sustain, especially when unplugged. I've been playing it so much my Collings MT2 is jealous. I really appreciated the updates you gave me along the way. I had read some real horror stories on message boards about problems people have had with other small builders, but your e-mails kept me from worrying. Thanks again, Peter
