I have 4 hand made mandolins, 2 Weber Gallatins, (did have a Yellowstone), a Michael Kelly and some others. They all required setups, some more than once and three still aren't right for me. The MANNDOLIN arrived setup to suit ME. The tone is different in a good way and the volume is better than most. In the aesthetics area, my MANNDOLIN wins - without a doubt.     Hello Jon, wanted to let you know I received my A7 yesterday and it
is even more beautiful then the jpeg's you sent.  The grain on the curly
mahogany back is stunning and I love the contrast between the redwood top
and the maple neck.  The sound is just what I was looking for and more.
You'll remember from our conversation that I was looking for a more "mellow"
/ "old-timey" sound rather than the stand bluegrass chop and this Manndo has
it in spades - I brought it back to Idaho and compared it with my buddies
Gibson and a couple of Webers and what I liked most of all is that it
actually has a "unique" sound, I guess the thru-neck design does something
to the sound - I love that with this Manndo I will not sound like every
other player.  Thank you for the great work and best of luck in the future.

Jon:                                                                                                                                                                          Well, I spent several hours with the A7 over the Labor Day weekend, and I have to honestly tell you that my impressions are even better than when I first received it.  The neck is a wondrous thing to hold- it fills my hand and is equally comfortable and stable.  The fret work is pristine, the intonation is dead-solid perfect (that is NO exaggeration), and from the top of the unique headstock to the strap button on the tailpiece, it is apparent that what you do is a gift and a labor of love.  Man, what a beauty. I just can’t get over the sound this mando possesses.  I can’t exactly describe it, but it is at the same time earthy, rich, mellow, warm and “woody” in all of the good ways. If your favorite pair of well-worn jeans could sing, they would sound like the A7.  In a word, it’s soulful.    I own several well-made instruments, and I am happy to place the A7 up with the best of them.  If you need me to convince anybody as to the quality of your work, I would be more than happy to talk their ears off. It is EXACTLY what I have been looking for in a mandolin.       Many, many thanks for putting this sweet thing in my hands.                                                    Regards, Mark Smith
